Dr. Esther Yun
BOARD CERTIFIED PEDIATRIC DENTIST
Dr. Esther Yun is a board-certified pediatric dentist dedicated to helping children develop healthy smiles in a positive, comfortable, and fun environment. With over a decade of experience caring for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs, she is passionate about providing high-quality, individualized dental care for every child.
Dr. Yun earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Duke University. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she was awarded the Alshuler GOLD Scholarship and the Tufts Dental Merit Scholarship. During dental school, she also served as a Tufts Research Fellow and was inducted into the Robert R. Andrews Honor Society. Dr. Yun completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where she also served as Chief Resident.
After residency, Dr. Yun practiced in both private practice and community health settings throughout New York and New Jersey. She provided comprehensive pediatric dental care at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Brooklyn, serving children from diverse backgrounds and communities with significant oral health needs. She also practiced in multiple private pediatric dental offices across New York and New Jersey, gaining extensive experience caring for children with a wide range of dental needs. Dr. Yun moved to California during the pandemic and reconnected with Dr. Judyth Lee, whom she worked closely with at a non-profit dental clinic in San Mateo.
Dr. Yun is committed to creating positive dental experiences that help children feel comfortable, confident, and excited about caring for their smiles. Her approach emphasizes prevention, education, and minimally invasive dentistry, while partnering closely with parents to establish healthy habits that last a lifetime. She is experienced in a variety of behavior guidance and sedation techniques, including nitrous oxide sedation, to help children receive care safely and comfortably. Dr. Yun’s hand skills and attention to detail are also built on years of classical training in piano and violin, as well as years of participation in sports, including basketball and volleyball.
Today, Dr. Yun is proud to serve families throughout the Bay Area. She is a mother of two amazing children and loves to spend her time exploring the world with her family. Fluent in both English and Korean, Dr. Yun enjoys building lasting relationships with families and helping children develop healthy, confident smiles for years to come.
