INSURANCE FAQs

  • Dental insurance is a contract between your employer and the insurance company, and the benefits you receive are determined by the terms of that agreement. Because coverage details are set by your insurance provider, our office does not determine what services are covered or the amount of your benefits. Insurance plans can be difficult to understand due to limited information provided by some carriers, so we encourage you to review your plan booklet or contact your insurance company directly for specific details about your coverage. At Big Little Teeth Pediatric Dentistry, our front office team is always happy to assist you in understanding your dental insurance benefits and help guide you through the process as best we can.

  • Out-of-network dental benefits mean that your child can still receive care from a dentist who is not contracted with your insurance company. Many dental plans, especially PPO plans, allow families to visit the provider of their choice while the insurance company still pays a portion of the cost for covered dental services. When a dentist is out-of-network, the insurance company may reimburse at a different rate than they would for an in-network provider, which can affect your out-of-pocket cost. At Big Little Teeth Pediatric Dentistry, our team is happy to help review your child’s dental insurance benefits, provide estimates when possible, and submit claims to your insurance company to help maximize your available benefits.

  • We are happy to see patients with out-of-network dental insurance like Delta Dental. Our team will gladly submit insurance claims on your behalf to help you use any available benefits. Because coverage and reimbursement amounts are determined by your insurance provider, we cannot know the exact out-of-pocket cost until the claim has been processed by your insurance company. However, we are happy to review your child’s plan and provide an estimate of your expected portion before treatment whenever possible.
